International Ford Day
International Model A Ford Day was celebrated at Woltz and Wind beginning 9:30 AM where Dan Wind and Frank Davin had a nice area in the parking lot prepared for us. They also arranged for Steve of the Auto Trader to Serve us a free lunch on the grill outside with the weather being perfect! We had 14 Model A's and 2 modern cars show up. Those with Model A's were: Jerry and Eileen Boehm, Ken and Pam Darroch, Jack and Cathy Dernorsek, Ceasare and Dorothy Garrone, Ron Giuliana, Neal and Norma Grabiak, Bill and Joan Hamilton, Jim and Suzanne Heatherington , Bob and Charlotte McClelland, Don and Willa Miller, Jim and Janet Rauber, Chuck and Mimi Schneider, Keith, Eleanor and Keithie Walthower and Dave Weinheimer with Nathan Daube and guest and Chuck and Jeanne Berrington in modern cars. The winners of the 50/50 were Jim and Suzanne.
After lunch around 1 P.M. we left for a tour of the Lemoyne House in Washington, PA. (Our nation's first crematorium and also active in the underground railroad) Clay, our host at the Lemoyne House was extremely knowledgeable! From Lemoyne House we left for Sarris in Cannonsburg for ice cream. Those that made it the whole distance at Sarris were: Boehm's, Berrington's, Garrone's, McClelland's, Rauber's and Schneider's. Finally, our day ended in Sarris' parking lot when we ran into some gentlemen selling Model A Parts in the back or their S-10 pickup and Ceasare made a purchase! H'mmm could this just be a coincidence? Since Sept 28th was declared International Model a Ford day, Patches were given to those in attendance. What a great day and thanks to all of those who made it possible!
