Keith received a call from the Danko family announcing that Harry had
passed yesterday evening. As most of you know, Harry was a very active with the
club for over 50 years. In recent years while he was in his low 90's he was not
so active in the Club activities but many of us benefited from Harry's expertise
on Model A carburetors. He rebuilt and repaired carbs employing a gas flow
measuring system he designed and built in his basement and measured the flow
through each jet against the carb's specification. Additionally, he serialized
each carburetor he rebuilt and kept the record of each jet per rebuilt carb in
his "butcher book". I was fortunate to have 3 carbs rebuilt by Harry. They all
performed flawlessly.
He restored several model A's over the years-- one of which is now owned
and driven by our Club member, Harry and Debbie Sann. He was a neat guy and
contributed so much to the Club over the years,
The Club's condolences goes out to the Danko family!
